Week 37: Baptism Date!!

Hey Family and Friends,

Sorry I have no time to write this week! We have a baptism date set for December 6 for Sarah. She still needs to come to church and quit smoking but she’s doing really well!

Oceanna and Andrew are doing really well! Andrew has been reading and we met with them last night and committed them to read and pray every day. They are so awesome! Oceanna says she’s not ready to pick a date yet, but Andrew should be picking one soon!

Haley and Mariha are doing well! We’ve been reading with them and teaching them about 3 times a week! They are such sweet girls. They should have a baptism date soon as well!

We’ve been working on doing family history.

Love you all!

Hurrah for Israel!

Week 36: Happy Halloween!

Hey family and friends,

I didn’t have Christmas on Halloween like they do in Tonga, sadly, but Halloween here was pretty great! We weekly planned basically all of Halloween day and then we went to a trunk or treat that the Fordland branch had at the park. And then we had to be in our apartment at 7 so we carved pumpkins that a pentecostal lady gave to us when we tracted into her. We ate candy and listened to some Piano Guys and Lindsey Stirling (the violinist who dances) It was super fun!

This week we had lunch with Oceanna and Andrew. Oceanna’s dad was in town and made us tacos. They were super good. Then we had an awesome lesson about the priesthood and about temples. They are doing awesome. Andrew has been reading the Book of Mormon and praying sometimes.

Then while we were contacting less actives that no one knows anything about. We talked to a guy named Bruce and he has been in the hospital for about 2 months. He just got out and wants to come back to church! He is such a sweet old man!

Zone Conference was on Thursday and it was awesome!! Elder Allen Packer and his wife came and spoke to us! It was so spiritual!

We have been doing some family history this week and it’s been a really neat experience. Our Sister Training Leaders came and helped us connect our family search to ancestry and taught us how to find people! It was so cool! I am working on finding an ancestor’s parents on Mom’s side and I think I’ve almost found them. I’m super excited! I love doing family history! It’s been so much fun! Family History is something that Elder Packer talked about and he taught us how to use it with all the people we teach.

We found another less active who’s wife is not a member and they are looking for a church right now. It was so cool. We have a lesson with them next Sunday. He was super nice and prepared for the gospel.

Last night we finally got to have a lesson with an investigator family who should have baptism dates soon. Amber and Junior are not married yet because she has to wait for her divorce to be finalized. So they can’t get baptized till that’s all straightened out. She has 4 kids and he has 3. His son and Her 2 daughters got baptized on the same day. So they are doing really well and the whole family comes to church almost every Sunday! They are way awesome!

That’s about all for this week! I love you all!

Hurrah for Israel!!

Week 35: Obedience Brings Blessings

Hey Family and Friends!

This week has been a little crazy but it’s been really good!

My new address is:

240 N Pitts apt C-2
Marshfield MO 65706

I forgot to send it the last two emails… sorry!

So we have been trying to find less actives that the ward doesn’t know anything about and finding new investigators so it’s been kinda a slower week. But it’s still been wonderful!

Last Monday we spent with the Manglesons, they will probably send mom and dad an email sometime, they are super awesome! We canned apple pie filling with them and looked through the Branch list with the Ward Mission Leader.

We had a lesson with a lady who’s fiance is a member. She’s super awesome and is sincerely looking for the truth. She has the cutest daughter! She was so shy when we were there but warmed up slowly.

We are working with an awesome investigator named Sarah. She has a super cute little boy and really wants to come to church. She wasn’t able to make it this week but she’s coming next week!

We met an investigator the Elders were teaching but hadn’t seen in a while. He is a Veteran, he fought in the Vietnam war. He is the sweetest man. When we had our lesson with him he said the closing prayer and in his prayer he said that he thinks he was taught wrong in the past and he was grateful that he was learning the truth now! It was so cool! The only problem is that he doesn’t think he can come to church because he has PTSD and crowds make him really nervous.. But he’s super awesome and sincere. I know he’ll get there someday. Heavenly Father does amazing things!

We are still working with Andrew and Oceanna. Oceanna has been sick lately so we had a lesson with Andrew on their deck and he came to church with the kids. It was really good. They are awesome!! We asked them to pray about a date to be baptized so they should pick one sometime soon!

We had a ward Halloween Party and there were so many non members there. It was awesome. We sat with a family who want to learn more and so we now have a lesson set up next week at the church.

We met with a returning less active and she said that she decided that she is going to go to the temple as soon as she can because she wants to go before her dad passes away. So she got a blessing yesterday to help her quit smoking! She’s super awesome!

That’s about it for this week! It’s been really good! I’m excited to keep working hard and things are falling into place. I have a strong testimony of Obedience! When we are doing the things that we are supposed to be doing then the Lord is going to bless us!! 🙂

Hurrah For Israel!!
